Short film “Surfing Basque Country”

This is my first sort of scripted short film that I filmed past summer in Spain, where I work for Ujusansa surf camp.

“Surfing Basque Country” is a three month filming project and I mainly tried to show you the vibes of Basque Country and the way we spent our summer. At first I wanted to do a documentary type of thing, with the voiceover and all, but when I looked at the bigger picture, it would be way over the top. I think its a fun little video that says it all and should be taken with ease, just like in true Basque spirit, haha.

Inmate music video

Now and then the times get ruff and you need to do some extra work for a little spending money. People usually do weddings for that matter but I prefer concerts. At least you get a cold beer with some good music, haha.

The coolest thing is that you also meet talented musicians that can help you with the music for your other projects. One of them were Inmate, which is a metal band of five down-to-earth guys who are coming up big time. They are a really motivated bunch who work really hard to always improve, thus I liked them from the start. The concert shooting turned out really well, so Aleš contacted me to do a proper music video with them. They did an excellent job finding a nice place in Velenje and after a lot of planning and equipment borrowing we hit the stage.

I had some ideas that worked nicely, the key grips Črt and Klemen did an amazing job and Dado took care for everything else. It was excruciating 16 hours of work but all and all it went great! Video will be out in late Autumn…

Soelden part 1.

Last weekend I have spent in Soelden for two seperate shootings for Qparks. We did some freeriding with Untouched crew (more about that in the next blog) and I had to cover Soelden Freestyle Feast 2011. It was super mellow gettogether, sunny weather, great tunes and good vibes. Goodies and some cash was handed over for best tricks and we had a blast jam session with Ooz and speaker Jonel after the showdown. Check the video for more…

Austrian tour

It sure is season for hitting parks. I got three day filming around Austria and at Qparks they are really cool and let you to take two riders with you. Dejan Hodžič and Andraž Šparovec were nice enough to go with me and it was destined to be a fun trip. We rode some fresh snow in Planai, got to see the Red Bull Playstreets course in the making in Bad Gastein and wrapped things up in super mellow Waidring. On the road home we got a message that is already snowing in Slovenia which got us super hyped for the upcoming weekend!

Qparks Goldies

There is a lot going on in snowparks around Europe, so at Qparks we do a little “Best of …” clip every month. This time I got the chance to edit the January Goldies and it even got shown on ISPO. Its two separate clips, one for snb and one for ski. Enjoy!

Back from Austria

Me, George and Rako were on Planai where I had some  shootings for Qparks and the boys did the Plan P competiton which is a part of Qparks Tour. We got some stuff done and Žiga even got 3rd so it turned out to be a really productive weekend. Congrats to Rako and expect some edits soon…

A quick insight into my work @ HFPJ2010

At the start of the season I was really lucky to get a tryout at Qparks. Allthough it was exhausting four days, it was also the best learning experience a young filmer could get. Thanks to all the filmers and special thanks to Miql for a chance and Basti for all the shared knowledge.
